HATCHET To Introduce New Lineup On U.S. Tour
September 1, 2009San Francisco Bay Area's HATCHET will embark on its first U.S. tour this year on Friday, September 4 at Thee Parkside in San Francisco. Denver's HAVOK will accompany HATCHET on the trek, with Bay Area bands BROCAS HELM and LACERATION also appearing at the San Francisco show.
The six-week tour will cover all points of the U.S. before wrapping up on October 16 in Berkeley at 924 Gilman. That show will feature WARBRINGER, WITCHHAVEN, NIHILIST, and a few added surprises.
HATCHET was signed to Metal Blade Records in October 2007 and released its début album, "Awaiting Evil", in the spring of 2008. HATCHET takes the roots of '80s thrash metal and combines it with their own distinct elements to present a sound that is fresh, yet familiar. HATCHET was quickly welcomed to a fastidious San Francisco metal scene and was one of the newer thrash acts key in resurrecting the scene — all but dead for more than a decade. To be sure, HATCHET leave a trail of unmistakable energy behind them upon the exit of each show that they perform which, invariably, has turned the head of fan and critic alike.
HATCHET went on hiatus in fall '08 while the band searched for a new vocalist and bassist, but are now back with some new and more mature material, sure to leave any fan headbanging for more.
